Serving & Volunteering

Our Vision: A Family of Christ’s Servants, Sowing Seeds, Growing Branches, Harvesting for the Kingdom of God.”

At First United Methodist, we are “A Family of Christ’s Servants.”  We have the opportunity to shine the love of God both locally and globally through faith in Jesus Christ.  We share God’s love through our service to others.  We believe it is through serving that people of all ages experience deeper faith.

We believe serving is more than just doing a job; it’s putting our faith and vision into action.  And more than that, it is experiencing true JOY, knowing that we are making a Christian difference in the world.  As each of us responds by using our God-given gifts, the entire Body of Christ is strengthened and expanded.  When a person’s passions, talents, abilities, spiritual gifts, and love for Christ are given to the world, the results bring glory to God, and furthers God’s Kingdom – the “harvest.”

“Each one should use whatever he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”  1 Peter 4:10

We have a “Time and Talent Guide,” for you to prayerfully review and consider where your gifts, talents, and abilities can be used to serve others. You can even complete a Service Inventory, letting us know how you would like to serve.  The best way to make a Christian difference in the world is to be INVOLVED!  So, be a part of the FAMILY!  Help us truly be a “Family of Christ’s Servants”!
