Our Story - Our Needs
By now the 2016 Narrative Budget, entitled "Our Story,
Our Needs" which defines First Church's plans for 2016, should have arrived at your home. Over the upcoming weeks, through November 22nd, we will be learning more
about some of the ministry, mission, and worship areas of
our church. During these Sundays, each family will have an opportunity to make a financial commitment to support First Church in 2016. Please prayerfully consider this request and
keep your eye out for mail from the Stewardship Committee
over the next few weeks!

The Salvation of Doctor Who:
Connecting Christ and Culture
Led By Lee Dukes &
Kathy Huse
 Thursday Evenings 6:30p-7:30p
Starting Oct. 22nd for 5 weeks
Held in the new Media Room #302
$10 per person
In The Salvation of Doctor Who, pastor and author Matt Rawle draws on the long-running TV show and cult favorite Doctor Who to explore four ways that Doctor Who can prompt us to ask deep theological questions, and why these questions matter. Doctor Who tells the story of the timelessness and power of goodness and truth in a universe that hate and sin have broken. The good news is that the Doctor, an image of Christ as the Great Physician (see Acts 10:38), reveals that there is always hope for those who fight for mercy, grace, and love. Doctor Who entertainingly stretches our minds about what is so that we might fully worship the God who created everything that is. Seen through eyes of faith, Doctor Who can be a lens through which we understand who we are and our connection with God’s saving grace. You don’t have to be familiar with this pop culture TV series to appreciate this study!
